Dar AL Uloom Nadwa Center
Year 2014 | San Bernardino, California
Dar-Al-Uloom Al-Islamiyah of America was founded and incorporated in the State of California as a nonprofit Muslim religious educational institution in June 1987. Its operations began in Inglewood, Los Angeles, in March 1988, initially focusing on an educational program for children.
The project's Master Plan defines the criteria for the present and future development of the nine-acre complex. Respecting the needs and requirements of the various components of the plan, this vision represents the sum of multiple phases of development that have been implemented over the years. In each construction phase, pedestrian traffic flow across the site has been maintained.

The Dar Al Uloom Nadwa Center has been designed to be a community-oriented space while ensuring privacy and security for academic, religious, and social activities. The front of the site features a series of buildings organized around a central plaza with a water fountain and an olive grove, symbolizing the religious principles that inspire the center. The central plaza is framed by commercial and educational uses, designed to host an outdoor market, a bazaar, a weekly farmer's market, and other social events that foster community integration with the center's educational activities.
The Mosque retains its position on the land, but with the addition of the land improvements and a screened encircling courtyard, will gain a greater sense of privacy and sanctuary.
"As an educational institution, our vision is to inspire students to achieve excellence in both dimensions of knowledge: religious and academic, enabling them to become spiritually relevant professionals who embody a noble and integral character."
