Weber House I

Weber House I

Year 1973 | Santa Fe, Argentina

This residence stands out as one of the projects in which the architects’ exploration of space, construction, expression, and urban presence is most clearly articulated.

Situated on a corner parcel at the end of an urban street, the design presents a thoughtful approach to exterior spatiality through the connection of two distinct volumes—the garage and the main house—linked by an elevated enclosed walkway. This gesture reinforces the concept of the street extending through the site.

The project is organized as a promenade architecturale, where movement becomes a central design element and spatial and functional transitions generate a strong sense of dynamism. The exterior massing directly shapes the interior spaces, occasionally prioritizing formal expression over conventional functional resolutions.

Architecturally, the project’s language emerges from the deliberate exposure of its structural systems. These include traditional “wet” construction elements, such as concrete columns and beams at the garage and street façade, as well as “dry” construction components like the elevated walkway and staircases. Acrylic panels and orange tubular elements complete the composition, creating a bold and provocative image that blends expressionist accents with a raw, brutalist treatment of concrete and street-facing enclosures.
